open_questions:
- Which metrics can be read safely and repeatably from client Maximo/MAS estates without custom integration debt?
- Which diagnostic outputs are valuable enough to renew as software-assisted ARR rather than one-off consulting artefacts?
- Where is the boundary between internal delivery automation and a client-facing product claim?
needs_validation:
- Validate the first metric set with technical practitioners and at least one target account before naming this as a product.
- Keep this as a delivery-learning lane until discovery sprints reveal repeated data access, reliability and renewal patterns.
resolution_log:
- 2026-07-27: Created after Rich/Andrew founder-partner recalibration shifted product ambition from custom app build toward lightweight diagnostic engines and possible virtual-reliability-engine recurring tooling.

The July 27 recalibration strengthens the idea that Max Connect should not scale by selling only senior day-rate consulting. The product opportunity is a lightweight, metric-enabled diagnostic layer: tools that read a client estate, expose data health / reliability / readiness signals, and turn repeated advisory work into a renewable "virtual reliability engineer" style service.
This is not yet a public product promise. It should be treated as a learning lane behind the paid discovery/readiness wedge: every sprint should identify which measurements recur, which can be gathered safely, and which outputs buyers would pay to keep current.
Open questions
- What minimum technical access is required to produce useful diagnostic output?
- Which outputs belong in the first sprint versus an ongoing subscription?
- Who owns support, liability and data protection if the tool becomes client-facing?
